Sky Backround techniques

I accidently discovered a way to make snowflakes over a colored pencil dust.

1. First, you have to take a white colored pencil, and make lots of dots for flakes. You won't be able to see them, but they'll show up after you do the next couple steps.

2. Then, take a blue colored pencil, and some sandpaper, and grate the pencil lead on the sandpaper. What you'll get is a fine blue dust.

3. Sprinkle that on the paper overtop of the white dots, and rub it in with a cotton ball, or your finger (if you don't want to make your finger blue, use the cotton ball). The snowflakes should show up now!

What you'll get is a backround like the one in the picture of the nuthatches.
However, if you want a sky without any snowflakes, like the one in this woodpecker picture, you can do only steps 1. & 2.

Flamingo Garden

Here's a picture I had to paint for my art class. I think I like drawing better!
Let me know what you think of it!
